Location: Farmgate Cider (4547 Mohr’s Rd Arnprior) and Westboro Farmers Market (Byron Park, Ottawa)
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours: 10 hours minimum (Saturdays required) with the possibility of more
Pay: $19/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Cider Sales Representative. As a key part of our market and customer service operation, you will interact with customers, set up Farmers Market displays, and ensure smooth and efficient running of the stall. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and is passionate about selling dry European-style ciders. There are more hours and opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service: Provide friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service to customers, answering questions and assisting with product selection.
Market Display: Driving to and from Farmers Markets, set up, maintain, and tidy product displays to ensure they are visually appealing and organized throughout the day.
Sales: Process sales transactions, including cash and card payments, and ensure accurate handling of money.
The right candidate will be:
Customer-Focused: Friendly, approachable, and comfortable engaging with customers in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledgeable: Willing to learn about our cider making process, the types of ciders we sell, and the values of Farmgate Cider.
Available on weekends: Ability to work weekends (Saturdays, some Sundays), and possibly some weekdays, depending on the market schedule.
Smart-Serve Certified: Or be willing to obtain a Smart-Serve Certification.
A Licensed Driver: Must have G-class license, and be willing to drive our Farmgate delivery van to and from Market locations.
Reliable: Punctual and dependable, with a strong work ethic.
Experienced: Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
Have Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate loads (approx. 50 lbs) - tents, tables, coolers with ciders etc.
Positive Attitude: Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
